Parkway Preschool center is all about giving you all the resources you need to provide the best possible preschool learning environment for your little one. Whether you’ve decided to do preschool at home, or you’re just reinforcing what they’re learning elsewhere, this blog is dedicated to giving you a jump start in enhancing your toddler’s early childhood education!

One of the first things children learn is their colors. Some mother’s choose to start out with a “color school” where each day is dedicated to a different color. We wear that color, paint with that color, eat food that are that color, etc. For example, on Monday you learn about Red, perhaps you have apples with breakfast or strawberry waffles. You can wear red shirts, color with red crayons, play with red cars, maybe have red liquorice or use red food colloring to dye your pasta, as shown above. Reinforce the color as much as possible by asking,” What color is your shirt?” ”What color is the truck?” etc.
Color days can be a blast for both mom’s and babies. As you go throughout the week, you can help your toddler create a “color book” to review the colors each day.

If you’re child is not remembering the colors, try slowing down, maybe spending two days on a color, then concentrate on those two colors, only introducing a new color every third day or so.
Happy coloring!
